Assessment scenario coverage

AI fluency assessment scenarios for finance and controls

Observe how participants use financial, commercial, operational and policy evidence while completing a bounded business task with optional AI support.

These scenarios create opportunities to observe applied AI fluency in finance and controls work. They do not certify accounting competence or establish performance across an entire role.

Current scenario families

These scenario labels describe the current assessment coverage in this work category.

FP&A Analyst

A planning and analysis context that asks the participant to reconcile multiple business drivers, qualify uncertainty and communicate a decision-useful financial view.

Accounting and Controls

A controls context that asks the participant to evaluate records, policy evidence, exceptions and operational consequences before recommending a response.

What the simulation can make observable

The work creates opportunities to see whether the participant connects source evidence to calculations, assumptions, verification and final communication.

Key points

  • Evidence reconciliation

Reviews financial and operating materials together instead of relying on one convenient source.

  • Assumption control

Separates known facts, calculations, estimates and unresolved questions.

  • Verification behaviour

Checks AI-supported analysis and identifies contradictions or unsupported conclusions.

  • Decision communication

Produces a qualified recommendation that an intended business audience can use.

How to interpret the result

A finance or controls scenario samples behaviour in one bounded assignment. Domain familiarity, accessibility needs, time pressure and the supplied materials can affect what becomes observable.

The report should therefore describe the assessment context, identify the available evidence and state where confidence is limited. It should not be treated as certification, a role-wide prediction or an employment decision.

One fixed AI fluency framework

All scenarios use the same six-pillar construct: Context Framing, Evidence Navigation, AI Orchestration, Verification & Risk Control, Judgment & Synthesis, and Communication & Delivery.

The task and evidence opportunities vary by scenario. The interpretation should remain bounded to what the assessment made relevant and what the available evidence can support.
